Meet Dr. Michele Bruno
I feel very fortunate to be a dentist. It is satisfying to help someone by immediately relieving pain or performing a cosmetic procedure that improves a patient’s smile. I enjoy forming long-term patient relationships — it’s fun to see how patients’ lives change over the years!
Education and Continuing Education
Prior to becoming a dentist, I graduated from Parkland College with a degree in dental hygiene in 1984. I graduated from the University of Illinois College of Dentistry in 1993 with my Doctorate of Dental Surgery. While in dental school, I received the William Starek Award in Endodontics, American Society of Pediatric Dentistry Award, and Academy of General Dentistry Award.
Although my formal education is complete, I believe that a continuing education benefits all dentists and patients! I regularly attend classes and seminars through professional dental organizations in order to keep up with the most advanced methods and technologies. I am also certified in Lumineers®, Invisalign® and Cerec same day crowns.
In the Office
I love being a dentist because I get to help people every day! I’ve been in the dental field since 1984 and have been a dentist for more than 20 years. Some people dread going to the dentist, but I have the ability to turn their opinions around. Our patients actually look forward to coming to see us, and I wouldn’t have it any other way!
Our team is a group of individuals who all work for the same goals: To provide excellent dental treatment and to help patients feel comfortable. Many of us have known each other for many years and are friends outside of work. Patty, a hygienist for over 30 years, and I went to dental hygiene school together.
Family and Community
I grew up in Sterling, and have lived in the Fox Valley area since 1993. My spare time is often spent with my Labradoodle, Coco, and entertaining family and friends. In the summer months, I love to have pool parties and cookouts. When it’s not so nice out, I love to play Guitar Hero or host card tournaments.
I am lucky to live in a wonderful community, and I enjoy helping those in need. I have been active with both the Aurora Children’s Dental Service and Dentist with a Heart for the past ten years. I currently serve on the Aurora Dental Society and the Day One Network boards. I have served on the board of the Fox Valley Dental Society from 2000-2006 and was its first female president in 2004-2005.
I am a member of the American Dental Association, Illinois State Dental Society, Fox Valley Dental Society, Aurora Dental Society, and Chicago Dental Society.
